Textured Truths is Hair We Gro's community education initiative, created to make textured-hair knowledge more accessible to children and the people who care for them.

Many conversations about healthy hair begin after something has already gone wrong — excessive breakage, thinning, tension or hair loss.

Textured Truths wants to start the conversation earlier.

By helping children understand their textured hair from a young age, we want to encourage healthier hair-care habits, greater confidence and a positive relationship with their natural hair as they grow.

At an age when I should have been learning to understand and enjoy my hair, I didn't have the knowledge I have today about healthy hair practices, tension, protective styling or how the choices we make with our hair can affect it over time.

What began during my childhood didn't simply disappear when I grew up. The effects followed me into adulthood.

I can't go back and give my younger self the knowledge I needed — but I can help make that knowledge more accessible to the generation coming after me.

TEACH THEM YOUNG. LET THEM GROW.

Textured Truths is the community education initiative of Hair We Gro, focused on giving children and young people practical, accessible education about textured hair.

FROM DIGITAL EDUCATION TO REAL-WORLD IMPACT

Hair We Gro already creates digital educational resources.

Through Textured Truths, our next goal is to begin adapting that knowledge into age-appropriate physical educational materials that can be placed directly into the hands of children, parents and carers.

We're exploring how these resources can eventually be distributed free through schools and community settings, helping textured-hair education reach families beyond Hair We Gro's existing online community.

HELP US PLANT THE SEED.

Every contribution helps us move closer to putting textured-hair education into the hands of the next generation.

Your support will help Hair We Gro develop Textured Truths — including exploring the development, printing and distribution of educational resources for young people through schools and community settings.

Give what you can. Help us take the next step.

SUPPORT TEXTURED TRUTHS

HELP US BRING TEXTURED TRUTHS TO YOUR COMMUNITY

Are you part of a school, youth organisation or community setting supporting children and young people?

We're building Textured Truths and would love to hear from organisations interested in future educational resources, workshops and community initiatives.

This doesn't commit you to delivering anything yet.

It's essentially: Tell us you're interested.
